Considered one of the greatest athletes of all time, American swimmer Michael Phelps has broken 32 world records. Born in Baltimore in 1985, Phelps was in three editions of the Olympic Games: Sydney (2000), Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008). In the last two, he won 14 gold medals and two bronze. In 2008, he won eight gold medals, the most ever in a single edition of the Games.
